730 Days Old! - The Cake

Last year -- Porter wasn't into cake- we did cheese cake- cuz I liked it- this year--  I wanted to go above and beyond -- one to make up for last year-- I failed my 1 year old  -- and two- to show that I am SUPER MOM! (Cue annoying music!!)

So I looked and searched and couldn't decide what cake to do-- what is in my head- and what is in the pictures never can I ever - ever produce in real life--  - the only thing -- I can honestly say this-- that has ever turned out cuter in real life - -than in pictures or in my head-- is Porter-he is just too dang cute-- So that said- I needed something super duper for his 2nd Birthday-- you only turn 2 once right?

So I found what I wanted--  well a few I wanted- and narrowed it down -- to two-- each looked relatively easy (especially since there was no baking involved) HOoray -- !! --

These were the two that I found -- that I wanted to do --

and if that wasn't enough-- I wanted this one too!!

Simple right???

Yes all I needed was time-- and a bunch of bags of candy-- and - well I had a list- it was huge- but I figured I could make it on Friday night- after hair cuts-- --

I have to say - it would not have been a success - if Chet hadn't jumped in and taken Porter out to play in his Birthday Sand - - for about an hour and a half-- I got the cake put together- and when he came in - I wasn't even crying- I was excited-

This is how they turned out!!

I think the BullDozer is cuter than the dump truck-- but I loved them both!!!
Turning stuff red and orange - is hard with your basic food coloring- but I think it looks just great!!!
I served up the dump truck cake first-- it was a hit- everyone wanted a wheel- until they realized they were crusty donuts!!
Porter and Katie- sat and sate the pretzels off the Bull dozer-- and dipped them into the frosting- and I let them just destroy it- I loved watching how much he loved his cakes!!! - Made me feel like a success- he had to keep looking in the pizza box to make sure his pizza was there too- it was hilarious- dip in the cake- look in the pizza box!!!
OOh here he did both - dip and look- cute Katie helping out!!!
Ryan thinks this is too much funt o pass up- all babies are now helping-- ok not all there were four more mobile ones running around that weren't helping!

I loved how it turned out- here is the link to the directions-- and they have so many other cute cute cakes to pick from- something for everyone- and if I can do it- any one can do it!!

and I just liked this Fish Tank
