Island Park

Me and Chet - we work opposite schedules- seriously - it is amazing to me we even have a kid (wink wink!!)  But there are some times when the stars align- and we are able to escape the daily drone- and do a little tiny - vacation.   Chet's parents had planned to be in Island Park for a week- so we thought it might be nice to go there and hang with them for a few days- although - I was not excited about the reports of swarms of hungry mosquitoes tearing up the campers- and I feared for myself- and especially Porter- who hates being dowsed with bug spray!!  So i was not looking forward to sleepless nights- standing guard over my little guy - with a bug zapper!!  -- Luckily -- and soo thankfully -- my aunt and uncle have a cabin in Island Park- and they very very graciously -- offered to let us stay there!!  Bug free zone-- !! So we made the plans- got the vacation time- and we were headed out!! We spent 2 nights in Island Park- fishing and hanging out- I even got a wonderful- much needed nap-- and  as far as bug bites- I still got a bunch- mostly on my ankles- (stupid ankle biters!)
We learned something new about Porter- He is now afraid of fish- and will voice it- he caught  a fish - and as it came up to the dock- he was fine- happy happy - once the fish was out of the water- Porter ran away -- ran down the board walk- screaming Fish Scary!! --  ok then!?

 They were bummed- especially since I caught one on the bank!! hehehe!

It was a much needed break!! Here are a few pictures- I as afraid to have my camera out to much-- since Porter insisted on being "in the water" and since - I really didn't want him int he water- I was sure at any moment- I'd be diving into the river after him!!  (never did happen) although on our canoe ride he did try to get out!!!  (Naughty baby!) So one afternoon I grabbed a few quick shots!

So thanks to Dave and Verena for going on vacation - and thanks to Jolene and Karl for letting us stay at your wonderful cabin- made it all the more enjoyable-- (I wouldn't have gone otherwise!!!)
