Porter was soo stinkin spoiled--
I had wanted (for about a year) to get him a "jumpin horse" Like the one I had when I was a kid- and the ones that most of us had- that is the springhorse- that bucks you off- you know those dangerous toys- that didn't kill us!!!
I wanted to find one for him- they make them new- but I didn't want to spend soo much on it!
I found on Craigslist-- for super cheap- it was in Pocatello- my wonderful in-laws -- went and picked up the horse for me- (which was no small feat!!! ) and stored it for almost a month- Theron and Logan (Porter's cousins) helped scrub it up with Lysol and clothes- to make it look wonderfully new- and Verena tied a cute bow to it- so it looked all dolled up for the party!!
Porter's face was priceless when Chet brought the horse in- he immediately jumped on - and went to town riding his horse- of course it was then the big hit of the party -- I love it- Porter loves it!!
Porter also got one of his new favorite "toys" for his birthday-- His Grandpa and Grandma Purcell (My parents) got him a dump truck load of sand -- yes you read that correctly- a dump truck load of sand!! It is dumped in the driveway -- and Porter can play and play and play in his huge mound of "Porter's Birthday Sand" is what he says-- Then to make it even better-- we took an old Tractor tire of my Dad's - drug it into the fenced portion of the yard- and Chet filled the tire full of sand- now he has a little sand box- to stay in the yard and a big sandbox- whne he's out of the yard or when the big kids come to play!!! It is the biggest hit yet- and I had one when I was little- and loved it!! So -- seems to be a theme right??? (Beckie reliving her child hood? )
All aboard!!
Kind of a big tire for a little guy!!
So Handsome in his sand pile- he had to take off his pants- to make sure his crack was sufficiently full of sand before bed time!!!
All of our family and a few friends came to celebrate- we had pizza, watermelon, tropical fruit salsa, bean dip- and of course the cakes- which you already saw!!! My mom also made brownies- which were to die for (as usual!)
The place was a zoo- and I loved every minute of it- and I think Porter enjoyed himself more than he knew what to do with!!
Once everyone left-- we stripped Porter down- which has become an evening ritual- and he goes potty on his potty chair-- well he ran outside to play for one last hoorah as the sun was setting- and came running in frantically a few minutes later---- he tells me-- "Get the shovel- I pooped" -- I laughed and said where?-- He said "on the lawn"-- I told him show me-- he sometimes thinks a fart is poop -- so he took me and Chet out and sure enough-- a terd on the lawn-- I laughed so hard and almost peed !!! --I guess its his party - he can poop on the lawn if he wants too!!!-- (I wanted to take a picture but Chet decided not to!)
So here are some pics from the event- the attendees and the mess!!
Gramma Great showed up-- I told her to smile- and she stared at me- I told her to open her eyes- and this is what I got?? Oh well she is smiling!!!
The babies showed up- Blake and Jayden- boy they are party animals!!!
This group of lovely people showed up too!!! Katie and Bri waned nothing to do with my camera - but Candace smiled nice!!!
Sweet Kinzley came- Porter is still talking about her-- I think she had a great time- we are plagued with little boys in our family - so it was nice to have a little girl to play with Katie- and for Porter to ooh and ah at-- and she loved tormenting her mother with the baby kittens (Shar is scared of cats!!!)
Thank you to everyone who came and enjoyed with is-- I think we might make it an annual event?
