This is Sugar (I call her Sugar Mamma). We were in the process of getting her (buying/trading whatever). The deal was -- my dad would trade for hay and after we rode her and liked her and she was everything they promised she would be then we'd discuss if money needed to trade hands, etc. Soo -- We get her on a Friday -- Just a back story-- the guy tells us she's bomb proof-- kids horse, gentle, been in the hills, packs, etc. Just what we need. So time has always held strong to the fact that you don't believe what "horse people" tell you! So I wait all week for a day when Chet or my dad can be there, and the wind isn't a hurricane outside!! It never happens. All week I plan on taking the maiden voyage on Sugar-- to find out what a great horse she is, etc. etc. So Saturday morning-- the horse owner calls and leave this mean nasty voicemail -- saying that we haven't called him and if he doesn't hear from us by noon-- he's just gonna come and get his horse. Ok- don't threaten me, so I got out of bed and put on my boots and we went out to saddle the horse up! Well when she arrived on last Friday she freaked out coming out of the trailer - - about killed Chet-- the guy was "Soo suprised" "She's never done that" But wasn't at all willing to try to stop her! Once out of the trailer, she's freaking out and going nutz-- Chet ties her to the hitching post and she tries to rip it down-- breaks the rope and runs off!! -- So now I'm freaked out-- pissed off and have a horse lose at my house! We finally get her caught -- and put her in the arena- where she'll live for a few days to get acquainted with the other horses. We chalked it up to new place, and some other stuff the guy told us!!
So back to Saturday morning- I have her halter on her, and I'm leading her up to the hitching post-- and she starts to freak out again-- she's huge and freaking out!! EEEK! I get up close to the post and turn her in some circles trying to calm her down -- Chet come to get her, and he gets closer and she loses her mind!! I told him I'm not getting on -- and she's going back! We put her back in the arena-- Chet barely got the buckle undone off the halter and she turned, kicked and bucked and ran around like a crazy horse for the next 20 minutes-- we immediately called the guy -- told him to come and get the horse and she wasn't what he said she was-- he didn't seem surprised!! Idiot horse people!
Oh and he was soo hot and heavy Saturday morning to come and get her. Guess who was still there this morning-- yup Sugar Mamma-- still just hanging out!! Lovely mess!
