So me and Chet like to dabble in everything-- Anyone who knows my family knows we are infamous for "End of the World" Gifts. So me and Chet decided for Christmas we'd give people turkeys we raised (good idea right!) So we buy these 5 turkey chicks-- 3 white ones 2 brown ones. When you get baby chics they have no fur-- they had to live in the house for like 3 weeks under a light-- Smelly nasty things! So finally they go out to the turkey pen! They grow and grow-- and since me and Chet are not really in the know how of how to go about raising turkeys, we keep waiting, each telling the other, well tomorrow we'll shoot them, tomorrow we'll shoot them. But we never did-- finally after a particularly bad winter snow storm and I was tired of digging into their pen each day-- we ripped the door off the turkey pen and let them go-- we figured if they ran away-- fine, if not it would be cool to have turkeys run around!! Well they stuck around! The would gobble an anything and it was hilarious!! I went to feed horses and I had a goat, a dog, and 5 turkeys following me!! I didn't want to name them, cuz you can't eat a pet, but I had to name this one white female turkey -- she was soo fat she could hardly walk and just kind of waddled-- I named her DUK! she was my favorite! So one night I come home to feed horses and can't find any of my turkeys they were usually right there? I fed horses in the dark and went in. I went back out a little while later to check again-- it was dark and there was snow on the ground and white turkeys are hard to see? I went by the water spicket and saw a feather -- oh no, someone ate my DUK!! I looked around and just saw more feathers, but no turkeys. When Chet got home around 11:30 that night he went out looking for my turkeys, wadding through waste deep snow out to the riding arena, he finally found one-- and then another and another-- we ended up finding 4 of them -- but no DUK -- the sad thing was they weren't dead, just mangled and we had to shoot them!! I was soo sad-- The neighbors dogs (which run in a pack 0f rotweiler, boxer and lab) had eaten my turkeys -- I was soo mad. They had eaten the neighbors chickens the week before! So the next morning I went to work and Chet went out to feed horses-- the pack of dogs came back and Chet shot one of the dogs-- eye for an eye right!! Well it pissed the neighbors off (obviously) so now we are feuding with them!! Like the Hatfields and McCoys!! He He he!!

Oh my gosh that is a funny story! I can't believe you live on a farm. It is a funny thing for me to picture. Andy is my step brother. How do you know him? Do you work with him? Small world eh?
