Chillin with Daddy!!!
You and that camera are gonna get it!!!
One Week Old!!! I couldn't believe how fast time flew!!!
Porter and Paige -- he calls her tacklebox!! (among other names he has now thought up!) This is the closes he's ever gotten to holding her -- except the night he came packing her into the kitchen I about had a stroke!!! He had gotten her out of her swing and brought her into the kitchen where I was having dinner with my parents-- oh my heavens!!
Look how huge he is compared to her!!!
Sweet baby!
Naked Baby!!!
Paige weighed 7 lb 3 oz when she was born-- she was healthy and wanted to eat right away -- and was a good eater--.. My Milk came in the monday we brought her home- (although I'd had tons of colostrum- so she wasn't starving!) -- She was eating good- and waking up regularly to eat (except in the night when she'd sleep for 4 hours at a time-- heaven I tell you!)
I had a doctors appointment on Wednesday October 24 for her checkup.
They checked her weight- it was great 7 lb 2 oz-- which is awesome- all babies (well most!) babies loose weight in the hospital-- Paige had dropped about 10% when we left the hospital-- so not a huge amount!-- but the doc was happy to see she was almost back to her birthweight!!
Her billy rueben was way low in the hospital-- -- so at this appointment they didn't even check (hooray-!) I hate it when they stab their poor little heel!!! (Here is my theory-- and I don't want to piss any one off-- but its just a theory! -- With Porter I was hurting pretty good after delivery (as you should be!) - and I was taking some decent pain killers (I can't take Hydro- so it was something else - davacet maybe?) -- any way -- i was taking it as often as they were offering it! -- When we took Porter in for his appointment his Billy rueben levels were a little high-- not high enough for a glow bug light- but high enough that they wanted to keep an eye on it- and poked him often (boo!) -- With Paige - I decided I'd be tougher -- I took Ibuprofen -- about every 8 hours for the first 24 hours-- then after that-- not often at all-- Maybe once a day for the next 2 days or so. -- NOw I don'tk now if that had anything to do with her levels being wondeful? or not? But its my theory!
Everything checked out wonderfully!!-- and they scheduled me an appointment for her 2 week check!!!

i would have had a heart attack too to see porter packing her around like he knew just what to do. so scary! and he does look huge next to her.
I was told that the more bruised their little heads are from the trauma the higher their bili is. With Jayden the doctors and nurse kept telling us that he will definently be on the light due to his bruising and he was longer than Karston. Karston had bruising but not near as much as Jayder bug. Who knows.Hooray for you and not having to have many checks. That was super annoying taking them in every other day to check their bili. Sad mostly their little heels were so chapped by the time they were done.:(
