Not So Cuddly!

Well any of you that have seen Over the Hedge -- and fell in love with the Raccoon -- have been fooled!! Raccoons are not nice-- they are like scary little badgers!! For some reason this summer-- our area was overrun with raccoons! So me and Chet -- in true Beckie and Chet style-- decided we'd trap some!! Good plan right! Where we had seen them was a field about 1 mile down from our house! There was a huge one living around there-- we knew that-- cuz one night coming home from fishing-- it ran across the road in front of us-- and Chet got out and tried to chase it down-- when it got tired of running -- it turned to fight- stood up on its back two feet and he prepared to PUNT!! Nothing happened it ran into the ditch! But after that he was determined to catch these raccoons! So we put out our live traps-- and what do you catch a raccoon with -- Doritos! -- I know it would catch me-- ooh yum! -- So the first night we set the trap-- and we caught a pretty nice raccoon -- the next couple of times we caught babies-- they looked like they'd be soo nice and cuddly and I wanted to keep them!! So we took them home -- but they weren't nice- they were mean -- and tried to bite! So we turned them lose in the yard -- and they crawled up my trees-- hooray I have raccoons in my yard-- I figured over time I could tame them -- and they'd be like cats! Nope not happeneing!! One night we looked out on the porch to see this - - -

Looks nice and cute and like you could just pick it up and love on it- nope-- it will tear your face off!
Needless to say our raccons dissappeared -- I think they went back to the other pack of raccoons -- and we kind of got bored of the whole thing!
