Fish Slaughter!

My dad had a great idea this year. He was running a piece of hay ground about 1 mile from my house. The property has an irrigation pond on it. So the bright idea was -- with gas prices as high as they are-- lets put fish close so we can all have a fishing vacation any day and not have to spend alot of money!! Brilliant!! We all loved it!! So we called the hatchery -- and had them deliver -- I think it was 1200 pounds of fish? I could be wrong on that number! So all summer long we've had fish to catch-- They were very small when we put them in, and its been fun to see them get to huge fish proportions!! Saturday my nephew Jayson (Brent's kid) was over, so he stayed to go fishing with me and Chet and Logan (Chet's Brother's kid). We went to the pond and did ok-- we caugh 4 fish -- and Jayson caught a monster!! It was like a hog baby fish shaped like a football! We went home and filleted the fish and grilled them up. I was very suprised when Jayson actually ate the fish!! He said it tasted like chicken-- and really it kind of did!

Cute Boys!

Then Sunday Brent called and was planning on going fishing again-- so I went down to fish along side everyone!! We got into them. We had alot of little kids fishing, and it was ridiculous. The Barbie and Superman pole really were slaying them!! It was hilarious to watch Terresa try to land a fish on the Barbie pole. We caugh so many fish. My Dad and Mom finally showed up towards the end. We took the fish back to my house, filletted them, and deep fried them ! They were delicious-- Note to any one who likes to deep fry stuff-- shake and bake sounds delicious, but dangerous-- it makes the grease bubble uncontrollably like you put bubble bath in there!!

Any way it was a great time! Here are some fun pictures of the family and fish!

Come on Brent they aren't that heavy!!

Remi and Jayson, they did soo good!! I think Remi was a little unsure, but once she caught one she was Hooked!!

Liam loved the fish, we'd let them flick him in the face as we'd pull them out. He just squeeled and loved it! He caught a few fish himself! (well with guided assistance, but he had the pole!)

Your dad was always one of those clever guys that came up with his own kind of fun:) Looks like the kiddos are loving it and ya all get to reap the benifits with food!
