Bear Attack!!!

WEll it is important- to document all your child's first-

First smile- First Haircut-- First Word -- and First Bear Attack --WHAT????

YUP--- Porter had his first Bear Attack last night--

Yes that is a bear- in someone's kitchen- under their kitchen table --

I got home from Jodi's last night- and Chet said- John has a bear at his house.

Really?-- I figured one roaming around - which would make for one dumb bear - since- John's house is surrounded by Hounds- that hunt bears--

Chet corrected me- inside the house -- I questioned it?- What?

so we loaded up to see the bear at John's house--

We got there- Kim was sitting on the floor- being quiet-- the bear would come up and take cookies and other treats out of her hand then retreat to its "Man Cave" - under the table- until someone else offered it a treat--

The tiny cub - was about the size of a medium dog--

Apparently John found it- and it could hardly run- its mother- had probably been killed and if John hadn't found it- it would have been dead soon.-- It is under weight and was sick when they brought it home- wrapped up in a coat-- the nursed it back to health over the weekend-- and now were filling its guts up with treats and apples--

Porter fed it and fed it- and fed it--

All with no incidents-

The bear loved Porter and wanted to play-- usually it wouldn't come close to you unless you were down on teh ground with food- Porter was dancing and talking in the kitchen -- we were all standing- and the bear would sneak in - and want to Play with Porter- we didn't allow it since- well- Bear Cubs- they just don't play nice!!!

I wanted Chet to get a still picture of Porter feeding teh bear - he has some good video - I'll try to put on later!--

So -- for whatever reason- they tried to feed the bear through the bars of the table - (even though it would come rightup to you?- - but his finger was out farther than the treat- and the bear got a hold of his finger-- luckily - baby bears- dont' have sharp teeth- but they do have strong jaws- it was more of pinch - than a bite- but still- Porter was unimpressed- cried and cried-- but then was ready to get some more treats for that tiny bear !!

It was a fun experience-- and even though it was a bear cub-- it was still pretty freaky- !!!
