So - here is just a bit more drama- as if there wasn't already!!
Meet Bo - -
Bo is a Blue Tick Hound -- Bo came about in a way - that left me no choice but to give in - and let Chet have this puppy --
This is a picture of Bo - last night- - he is 7 weeks old- and double the size when we got him.!!
This is how it all played out. . .
The week before Easter-- Chet's friend was selling a dog- a hound dog- he had a Dog Delivery Guy coming to pick up the dog and deliver it to Colorado.
The Dog Deliver Guy had 2 pups traveling with him- that he was going to drop off in Mountain Home - - When he arrived with the pups (which in my opinion were too little to leave their mom- they weren't even 5 weeks old yet!!) The man that had purchased the pups- before they were born -- had been deployed.
His wife- already stressed with life in general - did not want 2 -- 5 week old puppies-- and her husband would not be home to take care of them either -- so the Dog Delivery Guy - was stuck with 2 -- 5 week old pups-- He called and talked to Chet about them- he thought one was a female- Chet wanted her-- I didn't want her. - - This was Thursday. - -
Friday Chet still trying to talk me into getting this dog- I finally said no more dogs !!!
sometimes you just have to be blunt!
Saturday -- The Dog Delivery Guy said he'd be in town probably Sunday Afternoon - - but that the girl pup which was actually a boy pup -- had died - Chet wanted to see the pup soo badly - - and was now certain we had to have the other one- it wouldn't make it traveling with the Dog Delivery Guy all the way to Colorado- it had already gone from Nebraska (its home) to Mountain Home, to Cous Bay Oregon, to Nessa, and now it was making its way back around to us and still had to make it to Colorado -- Chet was certain it would die- and it would be his (my) fault.
I agreed we could go and see the pup- knowing damn well - that if he saw it - it would end up in my car -- but feeling a little bad for the tiny thing.
We met the Dog Delivery Guy on Sunday - Easter Sunday-- at a parking lot-- this guy was a treat-- He drove a motor home- with a van pulled behind it -- the Van was his dog delivery trailer -- oh my - this is getting good-
The Guy had a huge white beard- wore overalls- and smelled funny -- (ok- I didn't even get out of the car to smell him-) but I'm sure he smelled funny!
I waited in the car- Chet brought this tiny ball over to me- it was sooo small and skinny and sad and cold-- The weather had been crappy and cold! -- and the pup was not doing well.
I felt terrible- and put the pup in my coat--
And we drove off - - What the hell was I thinking- that is the last thing I need was another dog- not to mention a sickly pup- that is too little to be away from its mom.
We stopped and got some puppy food - -
Went home and poured some milk over the puppy food- I've never seen a puppy eat that fast-- and then he swelled up like a bowling ball -- it was kind of funny - but super sad--
Now this was never said- but this is my theory -- the Dog Deliver Guy -- doesn't want to clean up alot of Shit while he' is delivering dogs- so in order to limit the shit- he limits the food- I don't think this puppy - or the one that died for that matter- had eaten in a while -- (puppies are like bailers- something goes in- something comes out!) After the puppy ate its fill- it took a huge poo- then Chet wrapped him up like a baby - and snuggled him by the fire-- again -- I was not told this- but I don't think the heat was on in the tow behind van- and puppies need to stay pretty warm- especially when they are soo tiny.
We are now a little more than 2 weeks out- Bo is 7 weeks old and in one more week - he'd be ready to leave his mom- and Bo - is doing great- he is happy- healthy- and growing tons- Porter loves him- and loves to discipline him- and tell him No NO Bo - Porter's favorite part is --poo patrol-- Porter will find poo- and scream for a "hovel" shovel -- to clean it up-- I can't wait till the weather warms up and Bo can live outside- !!!
Looks sweet and innocent doesn't he- but he is foolin ya!
No NO Bo!!!
Porter is not loving Bo so much there- Bo just knocked him in the nose-- Bo also tries to eat Porter's weiner off when he is getting ready for his bath-- oh my!!!
UUUH!!

Anytime you agree to "go look" at a pet, you know you're coming home with it. No way around it. He seems precious. I bet he'll turn into a lifelong friend for Porter - when he gets over his taste for weiners!
poor bo. sometimes your heart wins out over what your head thinks should happen. he looks so little in the pictures with chet, but so big with porter. it's all about perspective :)
