Oh Did I Mention . . .

I HATE WINTER!  I HATE SNOW !  I HATE COLD WEATHER! AND WIND!  AND OOH WHAT ELSE - - - I HATE BEING SNOWED IN!!!

Whew-- do I feel better- no -- ok -- well a little bit - maybe!!?\
Let me walk you through my last week -- it was semi-awful -- and it just kept getting worser - and worser-- (name that movie - Swiss Family Robison!) Heheh!

So Saturday before Thanksgiving-- nice day - Chet's Weekend off-- hooray!!
We had plans to watch my neice and nephews that day -- then possibly dinner with Chet's Parents!

It started snowing early in the morning-- by the time 11:00 hit- it was snowing hard- I told Chet we should probably leave early - cuz there are alot of idiot drivers- we left the house by 11:20 (ish)


About a mile from the house we attempt to put the pickup in 4 wheel drive-- nothing-- we continue to try to make the stupid thing engage-- to no avail! OOOh -!

Now any one that has driven four wheel drive vehicles-- knows that when four wheel drive is needed and not available- the vehicle is rendered helpless- like a big sluggish cross eyed beast!!  We would have been better off in the car- pushing snow with the bumper-- instead of just not going forward at all! Cuz that was what was going on ! lack of forward motion on a Saturday down the busy street!! OOh irritating!

At one point in our journey -- another driver (an idiot driver) nearly stopped going up a fairly steep incline on the road- which caused everyone else to stop on the hill-- now we are no longer moving forward- in the middle of the road- sliding sideways only-- !!  i was sure we were going to get hit from behind-- scary scary scary!

We get to Jodi's house-- whew!  We call around- gotta fix the four wheel drive- no one is open on Saturday - ugh!!
It continues to snow- a wet heavy snow-- slick snow !_ Uhg!
Sunday comes-- more snow-- we go to Church in the car- it is safer that way -- the day is fairly pleasant- just lots of snow-! Then that evening-- it started to snow again-- I sat by the window and cried -- I cried and cried-- I hate snow- I hate winter- and the thought of it starting soo early - its only November! -- Makes me want to cry more! Boo hoo! The next 9 months are going to be hell ! Just staying alive is hard work in the winter!

The wind starts to blow Sunday night - - ooh Shit!!!
Where we live-- if some one sneezes on a pile of snow- it makes a drift- there is no wind block for miles-- and the drifts occur in the same places year after year! its irritating! -- its life I guess!

Monday morning- Chet is supposed to be to work early -- we get up and look at what is happening-- total white out blizzard- uhg!
We go back to bed--
When the sun comes up-- we go out and access the damage ! -- It is still snowing--

This is what we find!!

The pickup is completely encased-- and my car -- my poor little red car-- is burried!!

I call in snowed in to work-- Chet calls in too--When the roads clear a little- he limps the poor pickup into town to get the 4 wheel drive repaired -- while Doug taxis him to work-- and my dad and Brent try to clear out some snow from the yard!!! Futile Attempt!

Tuesday- More snow-- more Wind!!!

Chet calls in snowed in -- I call in Snowed in--

Then Chet decides he can make it to work-- Now my worry really begins! (Oh by the way -- four wheel drive gets fixed--hooray!!)

I worry and worry that once Chet makes it to town-- he will not make it back-- I called him every hour- to give him a wind update!  and plead with him to come home-- his boss however didn't want him to go--something about getting ready for the biggest shopping day of the year- black friday or something like that-- i don't know-- all i saw was snow drifts!!!

Chet leaves work early -- he leaves at 1:30-- makes it home by 3:30-- seriously -- it should take tops 30 minutes!!!  That is the type of conditions we are dealing with!!

This is actually a picture of the snow blower- but this is what it looked like most of the week-- seriously -- only a little exagerated here!!

Doug attempts to come out to hook up the snow blower on the tractor -- he gets stuck-- oh no-- someone kind enough to stop and drag him out-- hooray -- Doug goes home-- everyone should go inside and not come out until June!!!  I hate winter!!!

Wednesday -- the snow has quit-- the roads have all be closed (all county roads and most highways) they announce they are not going to plow until after the storm stops so stay home! I listen!

I call in snowed in-- Chet goes to work!

I finally go outside-- 1st time since Sunday night-- EEK--

Porter is loving life with Mom home all day long-- secretly I was loving being home all the time too-- if only I didn't feel soo stresed out with teh snow-- why can't we have snow days in July -- with no snow or wind-- just too nice to come to work today days??? I'll have to try that this year! (think it will fly?)

The temperatures drop well below freezing-- a dish rag in the my sink on the porch freezes-- EEk!!! My washer freezes up-- Chicken water freezes-- every thing frozen - roads still not plowed!!  My dad did come and push my car out of the snow drift for me and dig the yard out-- hoooray for DAD!!   he parked my car on a little piece of grass- told me to not move it until Spring-- or maybe ship it to Florida-- Yes I'll go with my car to Florida!!

Thursday -- wonderful day -- I get to go some where else other than my house -- hooray -- Turkey was amazing-- it was freaking cold!

Pickup starts acting up -- again-- sputtering and gaggin-- ooh I hate winter!!

Friday I stay in -- no shopping for me-- roads are still crappy!!!

My Dad and Doug come out and gets the tractor all the way hooked up!!!  and Snow blows a bunch at my house!! Hooray for the Weapon of Mass Destruction (Tractor and snow blower)

 Look at it go!!!

My dad then takes the tractor across town -- he calls and needs his pickup-- which is at my house-I go out to start it-- which it almost doesn't start- since the temperature has now dropped to below 0 with a nasty nasty wind!!!
I get it started-- to warm up before I drag Porter out into the snow-- as I lean back to clear a spot for the car seat-- I must have bumped the lock with my butt-- and what do I do-- you got it!! -- I locked the pickup- -while running!!  Hooray -- i call DAd-- ask where his keys are- send Chet to pick him up! At least I didn't have Porter already strapped in!!

Saturday - - we finally bundled Porter up -- and took him outside!!!

Dad and Doug came out with the scooper to clear more snow-- (its bad - it is November and we are running out of snow storage places!!)

Sunday -- more snow-- They don't cancel church-- but I think they should have-- I made it alright in the car- cuz I am a crazy driver like that!!

I texted Chet- who was home sick-- and told him to text me if the wind started-- because there are only a few places worse than my house for wind-- and that place happens to be the road out to the church.

I made it to work finally on Monday -- it was weird to actually take a shower-- put on clothes -- and go somewhere-- not just wear pajama pants- and snow boots all day long!!

Oh ya and did I mention-- I hate winteR!!!
