Fish or Not to Fish?

Ya What a silly question-- I love to fish-- however, I am a fair weather gal-- I don't really care for beating myself up-- or braving it-- I just don't see the point-- I just don't care that much to have the "Gotta do IT Just cuz" attitude!

But Chet had this last weekend off- one of his 3 he gets all summer- yes -- isn't that depressing!

So we decided to make the most of it!!

Saturday we had no big plans-hang out-- maybe go fishing if the weather was nice-- maybe work some on the house-- maybe not? Maybe just sit inside-- watch movies and snuggle-- aah ya!!

Soo Saturday came--

We tried to be productive-- We went to 2 Farmers Markets-- ya not my thing-- alot like craft fairs-- I was hoping for food-- and all I found was -- uhm-- crafts-- I'm not a crafter! So I hated it! Not to mention it was cold and windy!!

Then we went home--discouraged that our trip to the Farmers Market had turned out soo crappy!

Luckily -- Chet's brother's kid --Logan -- is a Fish a Holic!

The kid loves to fish--and wanted to fish-- So Chet thought alrighty then-- we all loaded up

and headed to Roberts Gravel Pond--

It wasn't terrible--the fishing sucked-- and the wind and weather sucked-but overall-- not a bad trip!

Porter loved the dock--

Check out Porter's Fishin Jacket--isn't it just hilarious!!
Porter Fears No Fish!!!

While Katelyn -- wasn't soo sure about the movement under her little undsteady feet! Both Katelyn and Porter were troopers-- and stuck it out-- Alot longer than I wanted to!

The Score for that trip-- was Fish - 1 ---- Fishermen -- 0

The next day -- we decided to try again- Chris wanted to go to the Southfork-- and knew of a wonderful spot-- after a little driving-- yes --ok-- alot of driving--

We made it-- it rained a little- but the spot was wonderful--no wind-- secluded-- the kids could fish right off the bank-- throw rocks-- and me and Candace could relax in our camp chairs and watch the river go by!! ooh and eat all the snacks-- Hooray!!

This time-- the fishing was much better -- Logan immediately got into the white fish -- and caught a few of them -- along with a very very pretty cut throat-- which we turned back-- what good fishermen we are huh!!!

What a cute little fisherman!-- See Chris and Chet in the background-- digging through tackle -- trying to find something to catch a fish-- so Logan doesn't smoke 'em all!!

Porter and Katelyn liked the fish-- I think porter liked it more than Katelyn-- but she was at least interested!

Overall-- it was a wet wet day - but lovely all at the same time--

I loved being out of the house--Porter loved eating grass and dirt and whatever else!

Porter's favorite Perch-- see his reins-- its good thing Chet has a tough head-- Porter likes to hold on to your lovely locks!

Chet is just like one of the kids-- doesn't he fit in good!

And I think it turned out great!

I love this picture-- my two Men! Just Chillin by the water!!

I told Candace - this weekend was alot like camping-- fishing both days-- but getting to sleep in my own bed and have a shower--ooh ya-- could get used to that type of camping!!

I am sure they were tired of me making them pose for pictures every 2 seconds! but they were good sports about it!
