R.I.P. Mouse

Well after having been over run and over taken with the mouse population this spring-- and getting very tired of watching the nasty critters tear my lawn up -- Saturday we got serious!! Chet was at work-- and I was trying to be soo productive-- ya right!!-- I was doing laundry -- and intermittently -- running outside-- well kind of sneaking outside-- to shoot mice off the lawn with my 22 -- hehehe!! Its a really fun game-- and good for target practice!! For some reason -- I really didn't get much done in the house.?? Later that afternoon -- Chet's brother and his family came out for some good old fashion mouse hunting-- it was a blast-- we'd roll over bales and just blast away -- I know it sounds gory -- but seriously -- gotta do something or they destroy everything!! We're just thinning the herd! After Chris' family had enough fun for the day they headed home-- me and Chet enjoyed some yummy dinner- but just couldn't quit watching out the window and seeing mice just sitting on the lawn-- so we both got our guns-- and went and sat on the front porch -- we had a family home evening lesson on ressurection!! -- and put it to the test! Between the 2 of us we probably shot around 60 times!! I thought the lawn looked like a graveyard before-- between the dog and Chet and me-- it is a war zone!! Mouse hunting is a long looked forward to sport-- but not all years are good for it-- Saturday was the perfect day -- sunny and snow drifts melting!! Oh what fun-- Yes I know what you are thinking-- Can she get any more Whitetrash- Redneck!! -- Oh yes I can !!! If you don't believe me-- read my post about Skunk hunting!! :)

Ok, so as you were telling the story of turning over bales, I thought that this situation would be a great plot for a children's cartoon: the crazy humans trying to kill all the mice while they try to survive the freezing temperatures of the Idaho weather. They think they're so smart dodging the mousetraps and whatnot until they come in contact with BECKY! She is the legend all the mice know of. Many mice just didn't listen or pay attention to the legend because they are now dead on the front lawn. haha! I guess I've been watching too many cartoons with Lawson. :)

Congrats on being pregnant. I didn't know that. Do you know what you are having yet? That's exciting.
