Pink or Blue?

Well the 29th was the day (yesterday) it was the day of the much awaited- much anticipated-- much dreamt about ultrasound!  I was 19 weeks and was ready to find out what color baby I was having (chet was hoping for caucasion -- so was I fingers crossed!!)  I had made Fundamiddles cupcakes with both pink and blue middles- so I'd be ready to surprise people with the news as soon as I found out!!

We went in bladder full- stomach full of butterflies (although that might have been wiggly baby?)  and was ready to see this beautiful thing I've been puking over for weeks (I am feeling better now- magical 15 week mark- thank you!!)

We were excited to be able to get a 3d image-- and I really wanted to video the ultrasound- which is apparently not allowed- due to some naughty grandma-- HMM??   any way -- everything looked great-- the baby was wiggly and healthy and all the parts seemed to be there- but the parts I really wanted to see- were not visible-

Tiny baby had locked its feet together -- tightly -- knees pointed out (think butterfly flex position after running!) and was sitting on its feet- looked like it was kneeling for a prayer- or getting ready for a donkey kick!!- but those feet would not budge- The tech- who was amazing!!-- tried seriously for soo long to irritate it into moving- it would turn its face away (which is why the crappy image!)

I have an anterior placenta (means in front /and on top for me!) and the baby was snuggled right up close to it-- and to top if off- I was having a lovely braxton hicks contraction for most of the ultrasound- which was taking up a good portion of the realestate that baby would have had to move around freely in!!!  so between stubborn baby -- flexible --- shy -- and lack of real estate - - we were not able to see the color of tiny baby!!!   But the tech- still so awesome- wasn't able to see another "important" item on her ultrasound check list- so I get to go back in the future sometime to do that part- and - and see if we can see what color we might be having then- so until then- I continue to just stay in a holding pattern-- I have not bought any pink clothes-- I have not and will not-- I have not washed up any boy clothes-- have not and will not --   Just holding strong-- waiting to see what it might be!!

What did we do with the cupcakes- well we ate them -- all -- of them- yup- I shared a few--  and then I consoled my heart -- with loads and loads of chocolate cupcake with cream cheese frosting- filled with pink and blue filling- (think ding dongs!! but soo much better!)

Here is a pic-- kind of crappy - but if you look close- you can see how dang cute of people we make!!!
or not- guess I can't get it to load- I'll have to figure out another way to do it!!!

But its a cute kid- !!!  Whatever color it may be!

Oh its too bad you didnt get to find out the sex! That baby is already giving you a hard time! But look at it this way.... on your next ultrasound the baby will be bigger so the sex should be a more obvious thing to see by then. :)

good job staying strong until you know what color it is. until then you get to keep wondering and dreaming :)

Just think how big everything will be on your next ultrasound. No mistaking it then!
