Our Weekends

Our weekends Lately have been crazy busy- but ooh so fun!!!

May 3, 2012, me and Chet went to an Eat and Great with an up and coming Nashville Country Stare- Mark Cooke -- They played about 6 songs - we had some pizza and got to meet the man in person-- Very good- very talented-- my favorite song he did was  "Can't Cheat in a Small Town" -- look it up - its funny!!!  

The May 4, 2012-- we went to watch one of my all time Fav's perform in concert -- Diamond Rio-- ooh they were soo good!!!  I really think they have gotten better with age!!!

It was a good time we went with some great friends- Jay and Kirsten (thanks Kirsten for inviting us to go!!!)

Sunday was Stake Conference- and there was no way I was taking Porter to2 hours  of meetings-- not happening- !! So we took advantage of the nice day and went to the zoo- Porter's first experience with the zoo- and the fact he is almost 3 makes me a bad mom- that I haven't taken him sooner!!

He loved it - once he realized it was animals we were looking at and not the "water features"-he is big into water falls!!!

The animals were super active -- since it was the first nice day in weeks!!!-- and there was hardly anyone there- which made it ooh soo enjoyable!!!

Porter loved the big cats!! 

And then my camera died- soo sad- cuz the Sloth Bears were a hoot- they were fighting and playing and doing some super funny things!!!

This last weekend- me and Jodi took the kids to the zoo- whole new story - so warm- (i loved the warm!!) so crowded- did not love the crowds-- but i did get more pics!!!

The kids at the petting zoo- they loved it- and Blake loved it even more-- (not pictured) he gigled and kicked his feet so hard!!!

The historical lions mouth water fountain- I'm sure this is 100 yrs old- and it is starting to show its age!! But Porter loved it -- and who doesn't like a photo of your 2 yr old with his head in the lions mouth!!!

The sloth bears were not as active today - boo hoo- but still soo funny to watch- they are soo furry !!!

Porter's favorite -- of the whole zoo- is the monkey house- and I love the Lemurs- they crack me up-- and they'll jump at the glass to see you better!! Scared Porter a time or 2!!!!

 I love the otters- I always want to get in the water and swim around too!!  Something about it looks so refreshing!! Porter loved to watch them swim at teh glass- and they did put on a great show!

Porter was posing for me - saying Cheese- but was looking at the group of teenage girls standing waiting to pass (that was so nice of them to wait!!! )

I turned around to set down my camera- and turned back around to porter unzippng and unhinging the flood gates!!  it was alot of pee- I'm not gonna lie- I laughed alot- and the poor teenage girls waiting to pass -are no forever scarred!!! -- One freaked out-- "Oh  My Gosh" and almost took off running-- the others just kind of laughed and skittered away -- 

Porter was like "Hey Baby"  -- "What's Your Problem?" - no biggie- just peeing int eh middle of the road-- 

its the zoo though- I'm sure he's not the first "thing" to pee in the road- 

Last week another little kid peed on the dock by the pelicans- it happens- the zoo keepers didn't even flinch- just kept doing their thing!! They are used to wild animals !!

For Mothers Day we had a great day-- Chet and Porter got me a beautiful Lilly -- I loved it- I had breakfast on the deck-- love me some cold cereal- Chet offered to cook- but I don't like breakfast!!!

Then off to church-- 

After church we were on our way to Poky - to see Chet's mom-- and have dinner (lunch) with them- it was delicious- turkey and mashed potatoes- yummy!!!

After dinner- and a little rest- we went to Brooklyn's Playground- which is an all access playground -- and it was soo amazing- I really did love it- and so did Porter- he played and played- and Verena and Dave played just as hard as he did-  I bet they slept good that night-!!!

 This spinny thing was hilarious- Porter loved it and crashed every time he got off!! What is soo funny about watching your kids walk around drunk- its not  funny when they are older- why is it so funny now?

 The swings were awesome-- me and Chet both tried them out!!!

 Verena pushed Porter for seriously like 30 minutes in theat swing- go Verena!!

And my sweet family!! Porter was not wanting to let go of the steering wheel!!
