We had to make fires well into the month of June to stay warm in our house- seriously - June???
But now that Summer is finally upon us- we are doing our best to soak up the rays- and play in the water-- Because in just a few short weeks- it will be winter again for another 9 months!! (or maybe 10 or 11?)
I took a day off work and went and had a little mini vacation with Chet, Porter, Jodi, Blaine and kids!!!
We went and had a wonderful picnic at Ross Park - then went swimming at the swimming complex- I had never been there- and it was fun-- except when there was a "Shark" scare in the kiddie pool- they ran around the edge -grabbing small children out- before they got attacked by the "shark"-- they finally caught the floating object in a water bottle- then had to banish folks out of the pool until the "shark" mess was contained!!
Sun Babies!
The weather was great- the sun was out- and Porter didn't bawl about being in the water- which was a huge relief- since last time we went swimming- he was less than enthusiastic about it!!We even had a nice enough day to wash the pickup- and boy did it need it!!
Porter loved the bubbles- and wanted to scrub scrub scrub!
After the pickup was washed- Porter's slide was next on the agenda- then Porter's head!!
We made sure everything was clean!!!
We spent Saturday with David and Verena at 24 mile Reservoir- float tubing- wading, canoeing-and just enjoying the sun- it was a beautiful day-- Porter couldn't get enough of the water- and even went for a ride in the canoe- and on my float tube with me--
Porter just chillin with some Milk!! He did not do much chilling that Day! To much to do and touch!
Ready to head out on the float tube- I tried to get Chet and Porter to both look at me- but that was not happening- they were both to busy for dear old Mamma!
I really had intentions of just hanging out on the bank in my swim suit- soaking up some sun-- apparently weeks before I should have had intentions of running my hibernation weight off- geez!
But Porter wanted to go for a ride on the "boat" so we did- and he loved it!!
And There is the Money Shot-- Beckie's Back Side!!
Again should have maybe worked out a little more- ate pretzels dipped in chocolate a little less!
Oh well right!!
The Thompson Family -- and they all are looking at me - Wow!!
My cute boys!!
For those of you who didn't know- I recently starred in a music video- called "Flip Flops and Muffin Tops" You can check it out here. I was pretty amazing in it!!
And in all fairness- the swimsuit- while i do kind of like it- was purchased at Walmart at 10 p.m. the night before- when I found out the dog-- had chomped a hole in the butt of my other one!!Porter and me taking a ride on "mom's boat"
Mr. Cool!!
Mr. Cool and Grandma!
Hello there!!
The next morning we went boating with my wonderful boss and his boys- Have I said that I have a wonderful boss??-- if not- I do-- he takes such good care of me-- and even makes sure I have fun on the weekends- ! It was Great-- the water was -- ooh so cold- but I got in - and went water skiing- I informed everyone ahead of time- that my tricks were-- "getting up" Oldest and hardest trick in teh book! I did get up after only 3 tries!! Hooray! Porter loved it- and thought he might want to get in the water too- until it hit his chest- and his lungs couldn function-- seriously the water was that cold- it sucked the air right out of your lungs!!
Later that evening we went and cut a load of wood- and then enjoyed wonderful fireworks- compliments of the Jensens-- I love those neighbors of mine- they are the best! Porter wasn't sure of the fireworks- but loved the snappers-- He throws them at the dogs- and it makes me laugh!! Annie stayed at Jensens after the fireworks to patrol for Racoons- and happened to get one-- all on her own!!
4th of July was spent trying to recover from our whirlwind weekend- Chet had to work (of course!) and me and Porter had some cleanup to do! When Chet got home- we played in the water- and later that evening watched the fireworks from our front porch- nothing better than - watching fireworks with the ones I love the most!!
It was a wonderful holiday weekend-- I am so grateful for the men and women who serve this Country - and who sacrifice their life-- so that I may have wonderful weekends like this one-- I am free! Freedom is a wonderful thing- a thing we should not take for granted! A thing we need to thank God constantly for giving us!!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!
