Once my dynamite wounds were stitched up-- they took my sweet baby and weighed him, measured him and made him cry-- as he had not cried yet-- and was concerning some of the nurses!!!
Mr. Man weighed in at 7 lbs 2 oz-- and 20 inches long-- his head was 13.5 inches-- (Uhm, yes it WAS!!!)
They finally made him cry-- and it was a sweet sound -- now not so much-- but that first cry you hear from your baby is precious! They gave him his shots and his eye drops and other things they do to bug babies. He quieted so quickly after his shot-- seriously only cried for a few seconds.
I let my Mom and Chet hold the baby and we decided officially on the name Parker William Thompson.
My Mom headed back to work (she only missed a few hours!) and me and Chet and Parker headed to our new room -- Room 111.
As a new baby arrives in this world-- there are very special 1st meetings-- The first one is meeting me-- the Mama! - then the Dad, then other special people in their life. There is something about holding someone that is so newly minted and sent from Heaven. You an smell Heaven on their head, and feel the love on them from the family members that said their good byes as you said your hello.
Chet went and got Porter from school, and brought him up to meet his baby brother! Porter was not too sure, and did not want to hold him-- although that has now changed-- he holds him all the time - best helper ever! It was a sweet little meeting! Porter lost interest soon and was more interested in what the nurses would bring him-- he worked that cute smile of his to get some awesome goodies!!!
My Gramma (Gramma Great) came up to meet Parker- which is always sweet! She just held him and talked to him like he was the littlest human.
I was very nervous about Paige-- I figured she'd either hate him-- or love him - a little to much! -- I did not even have her come up to the hospital-- I wanted it to be on her terms- in her atmosphere. So when we got home from the hospital- Jodi had her waiting-- and this was her reaction- HMPH! -- and walked away-- not at all interested. She has since warmed up to him (took about 2 hours) -- and loves him!
On our way home-- he looks nervous!!!
It took me a while to get Parker to meet all his new family members-- but we finally made it down to see Gramma Cook-- he was soo cute for her-- gave her some good smiles and was sweet and did not cry!!!
There are still people he needs to meet, but we've tried to not roam to far from home just yet!!!
We are just enjoying every second with this sweet little man!
