Out with the Ancient-

Any time you start to tear apart old things- you find surprises- sometimes cool interesting treasures- sometimes mold-- sometimes-- sometimes-- old hardwood!!  We finally got new carpet-- and ooh my -- out with the ancient- in with the new and soft!! Porter loves it- he swims on it naked-- and tells everyone its his soft carpet--

I can' tell you how happy I am that the new babies pictures will not all have a orange hazy glow coming off the orange carpet it is laying on!!  Soo excited--

Under neath the lovely orange- was hardwood-- not terrible- but not great either!!!  and for as cold as our house gets- hardwood would be dreadfully cold in teh winter (which is most of the year!!!)

It was a terrible job moving the carpet out- and I'm glad I didn't (couldn't cough cough) help!!! Luckily Doug was in the yard and summoned his services!! (Thank you dear brother!!)  I did have to help get the bedroom carpet out-- and it about caused a divorce-- if there hadn't bee new carpet to come home to when I finally calmed down-- there might have been a death -- don't want to get blood on the new carpet!!

 This is leading into the kitchen- it was like a time line-- Kitchen carpet-- underlayment- vinyl (I remember from growing up!!! -- then underlayment and new vinyl -- well current vinyl-- cracked me up!!!!

And in the bedroom- wowza-- this is the beauty we found under neath that floor- hardwood- with this gorgeous rosey laminate on top!!!  I need to ask my Gramma if this is something she had?? -- (she lived there too!)

The new carpet- is soo nice- I can't believe it- it makes the house smell like nothing- I love that even more- since I have the sniffer of a blood hound right now- the old carpet- was gonna be the death of me!!!

The only problem is now-- I hate my couches-- I need new furniture-- they look awful in there- and I despise them!!!!  So hopefully I can find me something else-- something new to me-- something more neutral-- maybe tan or brown--!!! 

But for now -- we're just soaking up the new carpet-- and loving every second of it!!!

Ooh and Porter has already cristened it- he puked while I was gone one day-- Chet had it cleaned up soo fast!! and  (quoted from Chet) luckily most of the puke got on Porter -- heheh- he's washable-- carpet not so much!!!
