New Years Day!

It was freezing cold here to bring in 2011 -- I mean bitter cold- On New Years Day - the thermometer at my house - breached 0 degrees for about 1 hour-- and went up to a whopping 1 degree!!!

So since we were having a heat wave- I thought it appropriate for some family to come out and enjoy the large snow mountains with their sleds -- and get drug around the yard !!!

For as bad as I hate winter- this day was really fun!!!
My Dad dragging Garrett around the yard-- Garrett would scream -- slow down-- I think my dad would go faster!!!
Generally Hannah maintained a safe position sitting in front of whoever was driving!!
She tried the sled out fora  minute- and didn't love it!!

The yard is enclosed by huge snow mountains  so it was alot of tight turning!

Hannah agreed to ride with me on the tube for a while- and we kept knocking garrett off the sled when Our ropes would cross- he finally made us switch!!

Hold on little buddy!!  If I could keep Garrett locked onto me- we didn't crash as much!
MIracle of Miracle- my dad even wanted a turn on the tube!! Due to the cold- the tube had lost some air- you had to keep your legs straight to keep your butt off the ground!
At one point-- Hannah was riding with me- and my Dad was on the tube- all leaned back -- she looked over to him and said -- ARe you Alright- then turned to me- and said - can you help him up-- Apparently she thought he was hurt or dying?- not sure- but it was funny!

Later -- after we were froze from being drug behind- Me and Garrett and Blaine tried our luck making sled runs down the snow mountains- it was mostly like playing pin ball- the mountains -- although they look like they have a nice slope-- are super steep with lots of ice balls to bounce off of- ouch!!

Porter Got New Sunday Clothes- and was unhappy about me taking the camera away from him
I will strangle him Mom -- you don't believe me- just watch-- now bring me the camera-- Bring IT TO MEEE!

I would probably like sledding a lot more if I could do it that way. I'm all old school with having to find a hill, slide down for 2 seconds, then hike back up for 5 minutes. A 4-wheeler would make it much more awesome.

Fun times! Thanks for letting them come out and sled. Looks cold, though so secretly I'm glad I was at work-but not really!
