The Innagural Camp Out!! Bear Lake

Me and Chet have always been outdoorsy people-- when we were dating-- we camped and fished -- and since we've been married we continued to do it almost every chance we get-- but since Porter has been around-- we have been limited on what we will-- can -- or want to do!!

But this year my family decided to go camping-- now that sounds harmless enough -- right-- Wrong!!

First of all-- my family -- growing up-- never camped--

Second of all -- my parents -- don't camp

Third of all -- the last time my family spent more than a couple of hours together -- all at once-- and called it a vacation -- I was in the 7th Grade- we went to Sandiego-- and that was it-- we weren't the vacationing type!!

So to actually plan and go through with this was a huge feat all in its self!!

But I have to say it was wonderful--

Porter did way better than what could have been expected for a some what grouchy 10 month old!!

And My mom-- she did good too-- for never going camping!!


so this is a run down of how the events unfolded!!

Day One

Set up-- -- I hate this day -- I hate taking it down too-- I'd like for it to be just ready for me-- but what can you do!!

The kids immediately got dirty - Porter included- luckily-- Terresa-- had brought an extra Play Pen for the babies to hang out in!! Porter would do ok -- in small spurts in the Play pen-- but over all he didn't like the idea of being imprisoned- and he took it out on the other babies-- he is a little rough -- and tumble!!

Porter Hanging solo in the Play Pen-- I think the other babies had to be evacuated!!


Hannah-- you can't see here- but it looks like she has a 3 day beard growing- her and Liam had found some dirt to roll in!!


I don't know what it is about fires-- that makes you want to look into them-- and inhale all the smoke-- but that's what you do-- see!!


Porter and Chet-- just takin in the scenery!!


I was afraid Porter would get cold at night-- so I bundled him up good!! I think he hates it- what do you think??

The next morning - Me and my dad, Doug and Kara, Remi, Jayson and Hannah went to Minnetonka Caves-- it was pretty fun-- but freezing cold--I was ready to go and get some sun on the beach -- and that is what we did!!

We all headed to the beach -- for some fun in the sun -- and some Jet Skiing!

Again I was nervous as to how Porter would react to the beach- he'd either love it or hate it-- well he was like a fish to water-- I'm pretty sure some day this week he might poop out a pearl-- cuz he ate alot of sand!


And some escargo-- yup snails-- MMM!!!




Porter was explaining to Jonah-- how to make a Sandwich!! -- or something like that-- I love this picture-- Hand on the shoulder-- I am sure he was being mean and taking something of JOnah's cuz that is what he did the whole time-- But the picture looks cute and cuddly!!


All four babies hanging out in the water-- they all liked it ok-- you can see none of them are bawling- but none are smiling huge either-- they weren't so sure of the water splashing on their bums!


Miracles do happen-- my mom went for a jet ski ride--

Porter wasn't a huge fan of the floaty-- but we tried--

Day Two:

More of the same -- Brent and Terresa went to the caves-- Chet went fishing-- and then we went to the lake again-- this day the weather was a little colder-and the lake was a little choppier-- but still super fun!

Ryan was hilarouse the whole trip--he would wander away-- just go do his own thing!
And Sandy -- wow he got some ground in sand!



Speaking of sand-- Liam decided that clothes were optional

He said-- Its all Sandy in there- I about died laughing-- I had to take a quick jaunt to the water-- before I peed my swimsuit--
Hey don't judge-- we've all peed in the lake !
