Giminy Cricket

So I have a tendency to believe that I'm losing my mind-- that I'm seeing things-- that I'm hearing things-- I tend to lean towards crazy since-- there really is no other explanation-- well this time there was.

The other day I was watching tv-- as I lay there in my vegetative state, watching something on PBS -- I'm sure (I love PBS) I was wondering why their were crickets on ever tv channel-- OOh annoying cricket sound-- the cricket sound ranks right up there with people scratching their heads, the beeper on the fries at McDonalds and the sound of Kill Deer-- (I hate those little birds!)-- any back to crickets-- I hate crickets-- I think they are creepy -- non existent annoyances! You can never find them-- they just make noise! So I turned off the tv-- figuring that it must be on tv -- right-- and it quit-- hoooray -- It was on TV- ooh the tv people are trying to annoy me-- they put cricket noises on every channell-- (that's almost worse than the president being on every channel-- read post below for that rant!).

Well the other night me and chet were relaxing on the couch watching Defiance-- ooh what a good movie- I love war movies to!-- any way -- it was showing these people suffering in the woods in teh middle of winter- no food, no fire- etc. etc. -- (just your basic bad day stuff!) and Chet kept getting a funny look on his face-- the damn cricket was back in the tv-- and this cricket is clever-- it only makes noise when the tv is on- so it tricks you into thinking that the noise is in the tv-- but there are no crickets in the winter --- Well Chet isn't as lazy as me I guess- cuz he got up and went hunting for the cricket-- (I was still convinced it was in the TV?) Any way -- he finally found my chirping culpret-- and now I can watch TV again-- no crickets on!! Hoooray --

And just for those of you who feel bad that we flushed the nasty bug down the toilet-- Crickets do not look like Giminy Cricket-- they are nasty and black and resemble a roach-- (ok I've never seen a real roach) but they are nasty and noisy-- and I don't know what the purpose of chirping all the time is!
