Soo for the last 2 months my house has been torn up ! The carpet has been ripped up-- there has been tiling and Durrock going on and the mess associated with that! There has been holes cut in my ceiling and through my roof! There has been big pieces of pipe-- and huge boxes full of more pipe covering my floors! I was about to scream- but I knew it was all for a good cause! Warmth! With gas prices being so high going into winter (not they are high now) and propane being ridiculous ! Chet and I decided to install a wood stove-- not hard right, just build a harth, put the stove in and light a fire-- ya right! It was quite the ordeal! But Chet with the help of his brother, dad and friend John, did a wonderful job and it looks like it was built into the house and belongs!
It was soo nice we had the fire roaring all weekend-- and it was a good weekend to get it in too-- we got a huge storm that had gusty winds-- and lots of snow-- then the temperature dropped to belowe zero!
Saturday night when Chet got home from work and I got home from a wedding reception-- we went inside to stock up the stove-- and then went out to feed the critters (yes they were pissed it was like 10:30 p.m. I go out to find the horses water is frozen solid-- even me jumping up and down on it-- didn't budget it at all! GRR! So then we spent the next few hours-- unthawing hoses, and finding the heated buckets-- so our critters had water to drink! Needless to say that by 1:30 a.m. we were both sufficiently frozen and it was soo nice to walk into a warm toasty house-- go stand by the fire and unthaw! We kept the thermostate right around 70-75 all weekend- which is about 10 degrees warmer than we had kept it the last 2 winters! - it was like heaven! I might actually be able to last this winter if I can stay warm! But no promises!

Hey Beckie, thanks for commenting on my blog. It was so good to hear from you. You and your hubby look so cute together! I can't believe you are rockin' it out on the farm! Way to go! I'm surprised I don't run into you more with living in the same town and all. Your stove looks great!
